Fileja is a typical pasta shape of the Calabrian tradition. It is not difficult to prepare it, it is needed just a little bit of practice.
Fileja is a very old recipe and takes its name from the iron tool with which it is realized (“maccheroni con il ferro”) in fact in some areas of Calabria it is also called “Maccheroni N'ferrati”.
Fileja pasta can be served with numerous condiments, from the classic simple sauce of fresh tomato, maybe with a touch of 'nduja to add spiciness, with vegetables or meat.
One of the most popular recipes remains the Fileja with Tropea onion and Nduja.
