Who we are

Francesca Marchisio is an Italian designer and owner of an atelier in Reggio Emilia.

In 2018 she launched Francesca Marchisio’s brand with the aim of transforming clothes into timeless objects with functionality and expertly worked materials. Francesca combines ready-to-wear fashion with the industrial design method to create authentic objects.

Francesca is graduated at Marangoni Institute of Milan. She won the MaxMara Award at Riccione Moda Italia in 2001 and started to work as a fashion designer for the group. She also won the award Next Generation launched by the Milano Fashion Council in 2007 and presented her collection at Milano Fashion Week FW08. She opened her own atelier in 2010 and created Sacaporter, a project inspired by traveling and transformation. “I want to feel free to research different ways to make fashion.”

Transformation is also essential for her brand name Francesca Marchisio. It combines design, aesthetics and Italian manufacture.

Constant research also distinguishes Francesca Marchisio’s business as a fashion consultant for brands and individuals. Reversible coats, sustainable fabrics and a real made in Italy are her tools to create objects to wear for a long time.

Shirt-vest

Reversible long vest with detachable sleeves and hood, perfect for any time and your travels. One side is simple, genderless with rigorous colors. The other side is irrational, the mix of feminine blacks is attractive. This model is born as a mix of different materials to Re-use deadstock fabrics. Closure with automatic buttons covered in waste fabric and sewn by hand.

Less impact hight quality

Francesca Marchisio works with reliable Italian suppliers only selecting sustainable fabrics to provide aesthetic, comfort, easy-care and respect for the environment.

From natural fibres as linen and hemp, derived from low impact production, to organic cotton, silk, wool, Naia Acetate, FSC Viscose, recycled polyester and nylon.

To reduce waste and make customized garments on request, we selection stock service fabrics, special yarn dyed in minimum quantities, and also many neutral white fabrics which are printed or embroidered season after season.

Waste-couture

A real conscious waste-couture is the new sustainable and innovative vision, experienced as an intrinsic element of craftsmanship, local Italian production character, and also as a real creative chance to re-use offcuts giving them a new value by the precious working of embroiders.

Seamstresses are involved both in the hand-making production and in the creative process, as the composition of unique pieces.

We motivate customers to return used items in exchange for exclusive benefits and to involve them in the mission of reducing waste around fashion.

These garments will be up-cycled by artists or innovative interior-design projects.

Conscious design

Francesca Marchisio is an Italian pioneer of reversibility.

She’s been experimenting with objects’ transformation since 2011. Fashion becomes metamorphic, clothes fit every style and allow people to stand out or camouflage according to the contexts.

The reversibility is in the hands of the wearer, who likes to interpret fashion as a personal experience to always feel good. Perspectives change, objects last.
