I run an integrated and sustainable apiculture, using all the techniques aimed at preserving the environment and mostly the welfare of the bees and the protection of the apis mellifera ligustica, Italian native bee.

Our purpose is to safeguard the bee population and the wild flora, trying with bees and work to contribute to a sustainable management of the marginal areas and the biodiversity of the territories. Through pollination bees play a strategic function for the conservation of the flora, contributing to the improvement and maintenance of biodiversity. We are aware that our territories defend themselves by maintaining their vitality and resilience. All this translates into our strengths, that is to say the quality of ours honeys.

The choice of making nomadism is due to the search for botanical essences to obtain precious monoflora honeys and millefiori of excellent quality. Our wildflower get every year national recognition for the qualities found and these successes push us to always improve our work.

Yes, we can learn from bees but we must overcome a difficult obstacle by switching from an expensive economy that is based on production of quantities, to a sustainability based economy, starting from the protection and the respect of the environment and its people.

From bees we can only learn: a family of bees is a closed loop, it is based on a very simple organization based on interdependence, interconnectedness and cooperation. They respect and protect biodiversity and use solar energy. 

Bees not only give us the highest quality products such as: honey, pollen, royal jelly, propolis, wax; but they provide a service for the whole of humanity: pollination of plants and flowers for a sustainable ecosystem.

UNCAPPING
Every single honey frame is uncapped by hand. This process consist in removing the wax thin layer (called operculum) deposed on each cell of the hive.

CENTRIFUGATION
The next step is to put every honey frame in the extractor, a stainless steel centrifugue which allows the extraction of the honey. The process is carried out at ambient temperature, without heating the honey in order to preserve its characteristics.

SIEVING AND DECANTATION 
Then the honey is filtered to remove wax and any impurities and left to mature in special stainless steel containers for at least 15 days. At this point the honey is ready to be potted in glass jars and bought by all those who want a quality natural honey from Nazario Fania apiculture.
